Alexandra Maria Lara, a Romanian and German actress working in TV and film is well known for movies such as Rush as well as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. Born the only child to Romanian actor Valentin Platareu, Alexandra started her showbiz career in the early years of her life. When she was sixteen, she had secured prominent roles in a variety of television dramas. Her portrayal of Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudl Jue, from Downfall (an Oscar-nominated historic war film), was critically and highly rated commercially. The other Oscar nominated movies featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is well-known for her involvement in many important projects in both the US as well as internationally. One of these is the British biographical movie Control, the Greek movie The Dust of Time, and the French historic miniseries Napoleon. In addition, she was a member of the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
